Diwali is a festival of love and friendship but in Bollywood the scene is always opposite. Every year there are big releases on the Diwali day and that follows the rivalry between two any two big houses. No matter who the star is, the competition is always fierce every year with each superstar banking on the supports of their fans boost of the success. This year too the scene in the same and for a change we have Shah Rusk Khan versus Ajay Devgan in the battlefield.
Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma starer ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan‘ – which is a last directorial venture of late film director Yash Chopra is all set to release on 13th November. To give it a tough competition, Ajay Devgan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt starer ‘Son of Sardar‘ in entering the battlefield on the same day. Both the superstars have made sure that the movie fans will get ample stuff this Diwali. Both the superstars are having huge fan following and are releasing their movies as a Diwali gifts for their fans. Both the movies have created enough buzz before their release. Both the movies belong to different plots. While ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ is a romantic movie, ‘Son of Sardar’ is an action, Comedy, Drama flick.
There was a small tussle between the production houses of both the movies in the recent times. Ajay Devgan who is a producer of the movie has filed a complaint with the Competition Commission with an allegation that Yash Raj production house is using its dominant position in film industry by promoting Yash Chopra’s last directorial movie ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’.
The issue was regarding the releasing date of the movie and screening it across the theaters. Shah Rukh Khan on his birthday quoted that he was happy to be not directly involved in the legal battle with the production house of ‘Son Of Sardar’. He further added that he doesn’t want to fight with anyone and there is no point in him having any issue with anyone – especially likes of Ajay Devgan. He also wished both movies to do well on box office.
Update : After the last weekend it is clear that Jab Tak Hai Jaan has have an upper hand in the contest as the movie was successful in collecting more than 75 Crores in just five days. SOS is however much behind the mark.
