Audiences have seen a lot of movies based on cop stories, where Salman Khan’s ‘Dabangg’ and Ajay Devgn’s ‘Singham’ might be their favorite ones. The recent actor to try to fit in the cop role is, ever energetic, Ranveer Singh, that too in Rohit Shetty’s film ‘Simmba’. Though ‘Simmba’ is the official remake of super hit Telugu film ‘Temper’, it will have its own Bollywood touch. Soon after the poster launch of ‘Simmba’, fans are eagerly waiting for another cop film, but director Shetty confirms that masses will not see Ranveer as another Chulbul Pandey or Bajirao Singham. About the same, he told a leading tabloid, “When we were making Singham, a lot of people asked ‘if we were trying to make a Dabangg kind of a film’, but the film has its own identity. He further added, “If the look and part are serious then it’s Singham and if it’s entertaining then it’s Dabangg. But our cop is not a Chulbul Pandey kind of a character.”

Simmba Poster and Rohit Shetty

Shetty’s masala entertainer will revolve around a corrupt police officer Simmba (Ranveer). His attitude does not go well with another fellow cop who is an honest and sincere police officer. The film is all about how Simmba has a change of heart through the woman he falls in love with and the influence of the honest police officer and gets back reinstated into the service with honour and glory.

Helmed by the Shetty, ‘Simmba’ is being made under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and will hit the theatres on 27th December 2018.
