Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan will be coming together for the second time in Vishal Bhardwaj’s next production. The film is adapted from S Hussain Zaidi’s book, ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ and is reportedly based on the life and times of Ashraf Khan, also known as Sapna Didi. It was reported that the film will be produced by Bhardwaj and Honey Trehan would direct it. But recently it was clarified by Bhardwaj himself that now he will be directing the film. Speaking to a leading daily, he said, “Due to different artistic visions of the film, Honey (Trehan) and I jointly came to the decision that it would be best if I took over as director and saw it through to the end.”
