Because of the controversies surrounding the film, the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmavati’ was pushed to an indefinite time period. As reported that Bhansali failed to show the historical facts in the movie, CBFC put the movie to a halt unless the panel of historians gave it a green signal. Yes, you read it right, now the CBFC has invited two historians from Jaipur as the panel to review ‘Padmavati’. These historians include Professor B.L. Gupta, a professor of history in Rajasthan Vishwavidhyala who has written numerous books on India during the medieval period and Prof R.S. Khangarot. In an interview with a leading daily, Prof R.S. Khangarot said, “Once we watch the film, it will be clear if history has been tampered with or not”. Gupta, on the other hand, said he was all for artistic freedom but then it should not happen at the cost of history. He further added, “It should be very clear that we will share the historical facts to the best of knowledge and will not be backing any political party.”

While the film is still in the whirlpool of controversies and tension, along with Bhansali, the lead actors of the film, Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh have started prepping up for their upcoming projects.
