Director Anshul Sharma’s directorial debut movie ‘Saare Jahaan Se Mehenga…’ which is a satirical drama of the present situation of inflation in the country is releasing next week. We will take a look at the background of the movie, its story line and cast and crew.

Anshul Sharma is not a new face to the industry. The movie may launch him as a director in Bollywood, however he already has worked be with number of big names in the trade. The talented filmmaker had worked with many top names in the Hindi cinema like Anurag Kashyap (in DEV D and NO SMOKING ), Vishal Bhardwaj (OMKARA ) and Suneel Darshan (BARSAAT and DOSTI). This time he planned to venture on his own and has come up with a much more realistic movie which has a plot which is much close to the day to day life of a common man- that is inflation. When asked about how he came up with an idea of making a movie on this topic, Anshul said that the plot came to his mind during the recent price hike of Onions. He felt that if a satirical film is made on the burning topic then it can certainly create a buzz and awareness among the people.

While selecting cast of the film he preferred to go with mere handful of known faces and has focused on selecting new but talented actors. Veteran actor Sanjay Mishra is playing a lead role in the film. When asked if the film will only portray inflation as a central major issue or it has another shades of romance and comedy he clarified that the movie indeed has inflation at its core. However there is a spice of romance and comedy is prevalent in entire movie from start to finish. The issues are serious but the situations are comical and are delt with the backdrop of satire and humor.

The film will be released on March 8, 2013. The film is produced under the banner of Revel Films Pvt. Ltd. Revel Films is an entertainment-based film production company founded by Ashok Pandey and Pragati Pandey in 2009. The company provides a platform of new and budding talents by investing in production of out of the frame sensible movies. Earlier productions of Revel include the short film ‘An Expression‘ and the feature film ‘Phas Gaye Re Obama‘.

The other starcast of the film include Zakir Hussain, Vishwa Mohan Badola, Sitaram Panchal, Pragati Pandey, Paritosh Sand, Ranjan Chhabra, Disha and Pramod Pathak.

Recently as a part of promotional event of the film the cast of the film staged a ‘dharna’ at the jantar mantar in Delhi late last week. Almost of the actors and crew members of the film have participated in the dharna.
