In a recent interview veteran and versatile actor Kay Kay Menon expressed his views about film industry and showed annoyance towards sheer money earning business that today’s cinema is involved in. He feels that today there is no cinema left in the industry and everyone is running after money. In this rat race real art is missing and true artists and good films are lagging behind.

“I am ashamed that talent is not promoted, it’s all about marketing. There is no cinema, it’s only about Rs. 100 crore (business),” said the Kay Kay. “Earning Rs.100 crore is not a big deal. I am ashamed of this Rs. 100 crore game,” he added with despair.

Kay Kay has so far enjoyed a successful career in Bollywood and was seen in many hit movies like Sarkar, Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd and Life In A… Metro. He was a part of number of critically acclaimed movies like Gulaal. Being a hardcore actor and true artist who believes in worshiping art form he feels that he don’t even want to understand the money game. He is satisfied in doing meaningful roles and being part of creative cinema. Being a die-hard fan of true cinema he is not even interested in knowing what he considers is a ‘Non-cinema‘.

Kay Kay is a management graduate and due to his sheer passion for arts and acting he turned towards film industry and is pursuing a successful career.

He frankly shares that he only wants to stick to acting because that is what he is good at and he enjoys it. “I am living my life to the best of my ability. I don’t do things that doesn’t appeal to me. Finding cinema is a rare commodity, to find a good cinema is all the more difficult,” he further says.

These days Kay Kay is busy promoting the first 3D dance film of India – ABCD – Anybody Can Dance. The film is starring a host of choreographers like Prabhudheva and Ganesh Acharaya. Famous dance director Remo D’Souza is the director of the film. It is set to be released on 15th Feb 2013.
