Film City Lights is based on the life of a poor cloth merchant played by National Award Winner actor Rajkumar Rao. This young man hails from Rajasthan and is happily living life with is wife (played by debutante Patralekha) and a daughter.
Since he is burdened with debts he decides to migrate city of Mumbai in a hope of a better life when his life takes tragic turn. The film is directed by Award Winner Director Hansal Mehta. It focuses light on the plight of poor migrants who shift to dream city Mumbai in search of a livelihood and fall in trouble at the hands of big fishes.
