Dashing heroes of upcoming film ’Gunday’, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, were recently invited on the popular chat show by Karan Johar – Koffee With Karan. Both the young stars were quite comfortable on with Karan and answered variety of questions intelligently asked by karan. While Ranveer spoke candidly about his rumoured girlfriend Deepika Paukone, Arjun Kapoor expressed his feeling for his stepmother Sridevi and his relationship with his father Filmmaker Boney Kapoor.
During the interview Arjun did not hesitate to speak about his personal life. Life involving his late mother Mona Kapoor, his father Boney Kapoor and Sridevi.

He remembered the day of agony when his father left his mother to marry Sridevi. He recounted the days when his mother suffered a lot due to his fathers behaviour who left them for his second marriage. His mother Mona Kapoor had to go through the mental trauma and she had hard time to cope with the separation from his father.

Arjun was emotional while saying, “Whatever she sacrificed to make me reach where I am and my sister, to be able to do things in terms of securing us financially, emotionally, making us stable and being able to dream of having a better future. She hasn’t lived to see that”.

He recounted the days of his mother illness and spoke in length about her disease. However over the few years his relationship with his father has been smooth and the gap between the father and son is bridged. He also has a lot of respect for his stepmother Sridevi for her work and for her as a human being.

He recalled the teaching of his mother. These are he values that his mother was able to instil in them that he loves and respects people even those who have hurt him. His mother taught him to love and respect everyone.There have been times after Boney Kapoors separation from Mona Kapoor that Arjun as a kid went on holiday with his family including Boney and Sridevi’s daughters. He recalled those days and said that he accepted the life as it was. He was happy that his father was happy with Sridevi and that matters to him a lot.

However it was after the sad demise of Mona Kapoor that Sridevi started to take extrea care of Arjun and his sister. She also wished him best when his first film ‘Ishaqzaade’ was released. All in all it seems that Arjun and his family has seen much tough times in the past.

Both Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor were present for the promotional event of their upcoming film Gunday.
