Star Plus’ popular show ‘Anupamaa’ which stays in the headlines for its content and TRPs is making headlines again but this time because of the recent controversy. Actor Paras Kalnawat who essayed the role of Samar in Anupamaa has been terminated from the show on account of breaching the contract and signing a show with a rival channel. The actor apparently signed ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10’ for Colors before informing the makers of the show.

Rajan Shahi, the producer of ‘Anupamaa’ released a statement mentioning that they’ve terminated Paras from the show.

During a recent interview, Paras was asked if he thinks that his career would be adversely affected by this controversy. Paras replied, “My career will definitely get affected by this. It will also affect my growth as well. Rajan Shahi is a very known and respectable producer. He is also a part of the Producers committee and him calling me ‘unprofessional’ would affect how others perceive me and it had also resulted in my morale going down but I’m looking at the positive side. I believe ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ will do wonders for me and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that”.

He added, “Had this incident not happened, Rajan sir and producer would’ve termed me as the most professional actor. Because they’ve complimented me in front of the entire cast of the show. But now, hearing the exact opposite thing from the same producer will have a lot of questions being raised on me”.

During the same interview, Paras also talked about the politics on the sets of the show, senior actors being insecure about his growing fan following, and his scenes being chopped.
